Device Set Up
Apps
The PAXStore and PAXInject apps must both be on the device. If these apps are not on the device, you will need to contact the device distributor or your PAX reseller partner.
Encryption & Injection
Prior to the terminal being shipped to the PAX reseller partner, it should be injected with the BridgePay Encryption (test or production) key in Slot 2 and the PIN key of the partner’s choice (if required) in Slot 1 by the KIF (key injection facility) or vendor of the partner’s choice.

Note: Regardless of the slot number, inject the PIN key in the very first slot and inject the P2PE key in the second slot. Terminals intended for use in production must be injected with the Production BridgePay P2PE key. Terminals intended for use in UAT must be injected with the Test BridgePay P2PE key. Please reach out to Integrations or Gateway support for key information.
For example, if the HSM starts slot count from 0, then inject PIN into the slot 0 and P2PE into slot 1. If HSM starts count from 1, then inject PIN into slot 1 and P2PE into slot 2.
To verify the injected keys in a terminal please contact your reseller or PAX Support @ paxstore.support@pax.us
If your terminal is missing a key, or it is an incorrect key, PAX can remote key inject (or RKI) the BridgePay Encryption key (test and production); however, the PIN key cannot be injected remotely by PAX. Email RKISupport@PAX.us with the device serial number and the name of the key to be injected. There is a nominal cost billed by PAX to the reseller partner for this service. Additionally, your device distributor may have RKI capabilities, so check with your distributor for more information.
Depending on the model of the terminal you have, the default settings password on the device is one of the following:

Upgrading the Device Firmware
Important: A PAXStore login is required to complete the following steps. If you are not a current PAX reseller partner, please email PAX at paxstore.support@pax.us and request to be a PAX reseller partner. To expedite the device set‐up, it is highly suggested to have this login prior to ordering terminals.
Below are the steps to upgrade you devices firmware. It is always recommended that you use the newest available firmware on all devices. Newer firmware can resolve device issues and can help in troubleshooting issues as PAX recommends the newest versions also.
Access PAXSTORE
Click Terminal Management
Select Terminal you wish to update
Click Push Task
Click Firmware
Click green + Firmware button
Choose Firmware version you wish to install
Click Ok
Click Activate to push new firmware to the device
Downloading the Terminal
Important: A PAXStore login is required to complete the following steps. If you are not a current PAX reseller partner, please email PAX at paxstore.support@pax.us and request to be a PAX reseller partner. To expedite the device set‐up, it is highly suggested to have this login prior to ordering terminals.
Follow these steps to download the PAX terminal
The terminal must be fully charged, powered on, and connected to the local network via WiFi or, optionally, Ethernet. The PaxStore app and PAXInject app must be on the device.
From the terminal home screen, launch the PAXStore app. This will ensure the terminal is connected to the PAX servers.
From a PC, log into the PAXStore using your PAX reseller credentials. https://www.paxstore.us
Navigate to the Administration Center in the BroadPOS Marketplace by clicking on the boxes icon circled below in red to drop down the Marketplace List dialog.

On the left column, click Terminal Management
On the top menu, click Organization
Next, Add a merchant by clicking the green "+Merchant" button. This merchant name is arbitrary but a requirement to complete the set-up. Be sure to check the "Activate Merchant" box before clicking OK to save.
After you add the merchant, click Terminal List on the top menu.
Click the green Add Terminal button.
Enter the Terminal Name; TID (this is also arbitrary and not tied to the gateway); Serial Number (located on sticker on the back of the terminal); Manufacturer = PAX; Model = A920, A80, or A60; Reseller; Select the Merchant from the merchant drop down list (must use the name added in Step 7); optional Location name. Check the "Activate Terminal" box before clicking OK to save.
The terminal is now displayed on the Terminal List. Click on the terminal name to open the Terminal Details screen.
On the top menu, click App & Firmware
Update the firmware
Click on the "Push Firmware" tab.
Click + PUSH FIRMWARE.
Select the most recent Firmware version (they are listed in chronological order, newest first) and click OK.
Click the "ACTIVATE" button.
Install BroadPOS Manager App:
Click on the “Push Task” tab
Click on “+ PUSH APP” in the upper right corner of the App & Firmware Screen.
Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to open the search box.
Type “BroadPOS Manager” and press Enter.
Click the checkbox to the right of the App Name and then click on OK.
On the Push Content screen, click “Activate”.
Click OK on the Activate push task confirmation popup.
The Push Details screen will now be displayed. Wait until the push task says “Success”.
Install PayGuardian (Android Version 9 and Earlier)
Navigate back to the App & Firmware screen.
Click on the “Push Task” tab
Click on “+ PUSH APP” in the upper right corner of the App & Firmware Screen.
Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to open the search box.
Type “PayGuardian” and press Enter.
For integrators use the PayGuardian UAT app, for LIVE customers use the PayGuardian app.
Click the checkbox to the right of the App Name and then click on OK.
Click on “Activate”
Click OK on the Activate push task confirmation popup.
The Push Details screen will now be displayed. Wait until the push task says “Success”.
Install PayGuardian (Android Version 10 and Later)
Navigate back to the App & Firmware screen.
Click on the “Push Task” tab
Click on “+ PUSH APP” in the upper right corner of the App & Firmware Screen.
Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to open the search box.
Type “PayGuardian” and press Enter.
For integrators use the PayGuardian UAT app, for LIVE customers use the PayGuardian app.
Click the checkbox to the right of the App Name and then click on OK.
Click on “Activate”
Click OK on the Activate push task confirmation popup.
The Push Details screen will now be displayed. Wait until the push task says “Success”.
Open the PayGuardian application on your devices home screen
Enable Allow display over other apps and then tap the back arrow at the bottom of the screen and the PayGuardian app will open
Install BroadPOS BridgePay P2PE:
Navigate back to the App & Firmware screen.
Click on the “Push Task” tab
Click on “+ PUSH APP” in the upper right corner of the App & Firmware Screen.
Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to open the search box.
Type "BroadPOS BridgePay P2PE" and press Enter.
Click the checkbox to the right of the App Name and then click OK.
In the BridgePay tab sub-sections, complete various parameters, most importantly, the Merchant Code, Merchant Account Code, Username, and Password.
Click on the template menu and select the industry type for your merchant and uncheck any irrelevant industry types, then click OK:
Please review all app parameters prior to activation.
Under the BridgePay tab sub-section "HOST URLs", confirm the Primary Auth URL is pointing to the desired BridgeCOMM environment. By default, this will point to the BridgeCOMM UAT Environment.
Click on "Save"
Click on "Next"
Click on "Activate"
Click OK on the Activate push task confirmation popup.
The Push Details screen will now be displayed. Wait until the push task says "Success".
Confirm all apps have completed their push.
Open the BroadPOS BridgePay app.
Accept the EULA (transactions will not process prior to acceptance)
Note - Quick Chip is turned off by default. To turn on, navigate to the bottom of EMV menu in the app parameters list in the PAX Store.
Run a test transaction.
If the key is missing, initiate a RKI with PAX by emailing RKISupport@PAX.us.
If this terminal is going to be used for a PayGuardian Cloud external integration (not in standalone mode or a POSLink local integration), open PayGuardian Cloud Mobile.
To view the UUID swipe left on the screen.
Run a test transaction to the terminals UUID via SOAPUI or POSTMan. Visit the BridgePay Integration Support portal for postman samples.
Your PAX terminal is now ready to begin accepting payments.
If using PG Cloud, contact your Point of Sale provider or reseller as there may be additional installation instructions to configure the processing application.
If using the MyBridgePay Virtual Terminal, be sure to complete the following steps:
Ensure your reseller has enabled your merchant account to accept EMV in the Virtual Terminal Settings tab in the Boarding Portal.
Follow the Device Manager in the Virtual Terminal Payment Form located in the MyBridgePay user interface. Select Network Connected Device and complete the pairing instructions.
